An Ongoing Summary of Important Events in the Construction of the new

Immaculate Conception Catholic Regional School

 

 

                                       GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY SET FOR SEPTEMBER 17, 2008

 

            The Most Reverend Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence, will celebrate a special Mass for the new Immaculate Conception Catholic Regional School on Wednesday, September 17, 2008.  The Mass, to be concelebrated by area parish pastors marks the first step in the construction of the new school.

 

            Immediately following the liturgy, Bishop Tobin and other dignitaries will participate in official groundbreaking ceremonies at the school site.  Attending the ceremony as special invited guests is the entire complement of faculty and students from Cranston-Johnston Catholic Regional School, which will close in the fall of 2009 upon the completion of the new school.

 

            Parents, grandparents and friends of Cranston-Johnston Catholic Regional School as well as alumni of the CJCR are invited to attend.  Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Rev. Ronald E. Brassard has expressed optimism that the new school will “be a shining star in Catholic education in the Diocese of Providence.” 

 

 

            The 46,000 square foot facility will house grades Pre-K through Grade 8 and have full gymnasium, computer, art and music facilities in addition to a fully equipped media center, playground facilities and other state-of-the-art amenities.
