WELCOME TO OUR LOWER SCHOOL!

A Message from the Faculty Kindergarten through fifth grade students at CJCR embark on wonderfully inspiring journeys each and every day. Our academic and extracurricular activities are structured within a culture of trust, honor, and respect and most importantly, a Catholic environment. We champion educational excellence as we encourage intellectual, creative and social growth. Understanding and tolerance of diversity, the promotion of social justice and appreciation of and love for humanity, and practice of charitable acts -each within the frameworks of Catholic teachings- are fostered within this school community.

One of the first things you may notice about our school is the warm and friendly atmosphere where both students and parents continually recognize the benefits of our safe and welcoming environment. It is readily apparent that we believe in our students and they learn to believe in themselves. We focus on the development of the whole child and guide our students to live by the principles of honesty, decency and concern for our fellow man as taught through Catholic values and principles.

We pride ourselves on being a dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to providing the best education possible for our students. In addition to our traditional curriculum, students are enrolled in music, art, computer, Spanish and physical education classes. Language arts units teach phonics, grammar, writing and comprehension skills. Our social studies programs bring history to life, making learning fun in the process.

Learning in our school is interactive and engaging. Our students are challenged both in and out of the classroom. Technology is integral to learning as students use word processing, Internet research and spreadsheets to build upon logic and thinking skills. We recognize the need to prepare students to live in the dynamic, global world by preparing them with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes that will contribute to their survival and enable them to leave their mark and make a positive contribution in the world community.

Beginning in September, 2009 CJCR will become Immaculate Conception Catholic Regional School and an exciting new chapter will begin in Catholic education in Rhode Island. With brand new facilities that will provide enhanced opportunities for the visual and performing arts, state of the art technology and a learning environment to meet the needs of students for today and the future, Immaculate Conception will continue to be the right choice for young students.
