Welcome from Resource Program
My name is Mrs. Jackson and at this time I would like to take you on a tour of
the Resource Program.
The Resource program is designed to service
students who are identified as having special needs, Section 504 Plans, and
those who are designated as at risk students. The servicing requirements of
students who are identified as having special needs are determined by the public
school system’s multidisciplinary team, medical professionals, Cranston Johnston
Catholic Regional School’s own Teacher Support Team and administrators and, of
course, parents.
The Resource Program provides academic support services
to children individually or in a small group setting on a regular weekly
schedule in 30 to 45 minute intervals, depending on the severity of each
student’s problem or need. During resource time, the student is provided an
alternative approach to learning that is appropriate to that child’s learning
style. This provision enhances the performance level and confidence level of
each student.
It is the goal of Cranston-Johnston Catholic Regional
School to meet the needs of the individual child increasing the student’s
potential to learn in a particular subject area to the best of his/her ability.
