Art at CJCR
Art plays an important role in the lives of CJCR students. Art activities
and lessons are designed to enable students to learn through a series of
satisfying artistic experiences. While lessons begin with basic instruction
and interpretation, they soon become challenging to every student at
individual levels of achievement and interest. The instructional program
uses a number of approaches that encourage learning in a variety of ways.
The true goal of the program is that all students, through the formal art
program and club activities, experience success.
CJCR’s art program allows every student to have a solid appreciation for art
as a whole. Lessons provide for personal growth that promotes and targets
students' self-esteem. CJCR takes pride in the art work of its students and
finds every occasion to showcase these talents. In addition to learning
skills, students are exposed to the history of art, various artistic media,
the lives of artists and core artistic values that are essential to their
becoming creative, self-satisfying individuals.
